Profile of Artist:

Dr. Vijay Sharma was born in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh. He is widely recognized as a gifted miniaturist and as an art historian. Shri Sharma learnt the art of painting from Mirza Asghar Beg, a local art teacher. However, his real mentor remains Dr. Vishwa Chander Ohri , a senior scholar, renowned art historian and founder curator of Himachal State Museum, Shimla. Vijay Sharma has travelled extensively in India and abroad and has studied major collections of Indian paintings across the world. He has given lecture demonstrations on the technique of Pahari painting at several places including Delhi, Mumbai, Germany, London, Washington and Singapore.
